A bay window designed to earn its space
An overlooked bay became useful storage without losing light, floor area or access to heat. Made-to-measure joinery follows the angles precisely, combining two wide drawers, two cupboards and a clean usable top beneath the windows.

THE SPACE
When space is tight, the awkward edges matter most.
London apartments rarely have spare metres. The smartest gains often come from the places standard furniture cannot use: bays, alcoves, narrow returns and uneven walls. Here, every junction was measured so the storage belongs to the room rather than simply sitting inside it.
The brief
Turn an awkward bay into useful everyday storage without introducing a freestanding cabinet, reducing the open floor area, blocking natural light or compromising the existing radiator.
The work
We surveyed every angle of the bay, window boards, skirting and radiator clearance before designing the unit around those fixed points. Two generous central drawers keep smaller items easy to reach, while the side cupboards use the deeper corners for bulkier storage. The full-width top creates an additional practical surface beneath the windows.
The result
The apartment gains meaningful storage without giving up a single useful strip of floor. The joinery follows the architecture, the radiator remains clear, and the restrained painted finish lets the bay feel brighter and more ordered.

Good fitted joinery makes more of the space an apartment already has. We design around bay windows, alcoves, chimney breasts, low ceilings, sloping walls and narrow corners, creating storage that standard furniture leaves behind.
